I have got a PACE freeview top box thingy, shaped like a half moon. I have it working i think its all set up as it needs to be, as per manual, i did the search for all the stations and saved them, however, there isn't ITV2 on it! - the very one I need so I can tape coro omnibus. Does this PACE have ITV2? should it? there is BBC3 and BBC4,, now when i did the first search they were not on it, and consequently I missed titty bang bang, with 5 mins to go I did the search again after re-reading the instructions, and up came BBC3 and 4...
does this mean i need to continue doing searches, maybe each time it finds more? and I store them, or is this PACE one of the first freeview boxes made and is very basic? I notice there is no BBc1 BBC2 ITV1 or Channel 4 or 5 on it although they are standard already on my telly. ie as normal use, not thru a cable.
I have a signal amplifier fixed up to it all aswell, i have one of them scart 3 into one whatsits aswell, as I have wired up to the telly, a dvd, CCTV, and the PACE freeview. It means i can just use one facility at a time by pressing the button on the scsart 3 into one adaptor. So then there is no interference or conflict with the different things plugged to it.
Oh i've got a headache, with it now!!!

do you know which transmitter you get your TV signals from?0

Hi victoria
sounds very much like an aerial problem. The digital channels are transmitted in batches (multiplexes). Some indoor aerials can not pick up all the multiplexes and some outdoor aerials (which work perfectly well with analogue) cant see the whole frequency spectrum and are 'blind' to some of the multiplexes.
Would be useful if you could tell us which tv transmitter you use.
https://www.dtg.org.uk might also help.0 -
have a look at the forums on here http://www.digitalspy.co.uk/terrestrial/ ...Ever stop to think and forget to start again?0

Thanks for replies! I have belmont transmitter, if this helps, the aerial which I use with it is a booster thing, (at least I think it is) its got 2 antennae, and a plastic thick oval loop as well, which swivels, it is called 'one for all'. It has a disc shaped button on it you turn it and it clicks on, and i assume its like tuning in a radio kind of idea, however it (the pace box) works without this switch being on, and infact when i do switch it on it comes up with the message on screen 'no signal'. I have also noticed that the picture freezes from time to time and the picture goes into little square bits all over. Then i move the aerial and it comes back.
As suggested, I will have a look in the freeview threads, and make sure its all plugged in ok etc, thanks for all replies so far.0 -
Unless you are very near to your transmitter you need an external aerial, indoor aerials with or without booster amplifiers are mostly a waste of space. That gum you like is coming back in style.0

The One for All website is here and lists the models as well as allowing instruction manuals to be downloaded.
Do you have a rooftop aerial in the house, also pointing at Belmont? If you do, then I suggest that you take your digbox and tune it in using that. Then, once you know that it is tuned you can connect your indoor aerial and move it around to get the best signal.0 -
As said above - indoor aerials are often the cause of poor reception
If you do have a rooftop aerial it could well be a group A [Ch 21 -34] For Belmont - you will need a group W [wideband] for DTV as the muxes are on channels 30, 48, 57, 60, 66 & 680
