The gig is free, it is upto you how you get there, why are you not attaching fuel costs onto the gig like you the parking costs and food?

Because my fuel costs will be pretty minimal compared to the parking and (presumably) the food.
The fridge is empty, the walls are damp, there's no hot water

Still a cost, could you not get someone to drop you off and pick you up? I would also try and get food into the venue myself as well.

The problem is the 10pm finish. I could ask the missus but my youngest goes to bed at six so she'd have to wake her up and bring her along so that's not an option.

It's not so much the fact you have to pay to park as the amount they are charging. £7.50 to park in a field is fairly steep in North Wales and the fact that they're likely to pull in £60,000+ in parking fees reeks of profiteering to me. (In fairness to Radio One I think the parking is being run by the local authority).

Depends on how long you are there, if its say 10 hours then 75p an hour is reasonable to me.

If your going to Bangor one park by Bangor pier £1 all day, walk 10min down to the bus stop, then bus it too the site. Every bus that runs from Bangor to Caernarfon run past the site. it'll around £1.10ish single. Every 10min on Saturday. Not sure about Sunday but regular runs till late.Either that or risk parking at tesco/b&Q and walkin from there about 20min ish walk, but no footpath.

If was just me I'd have gone by train. There's a train back at 11.00 pm on Sunday but the next one after that would be at 04.57 on Monday morning. I'd be reasonably confident of making it myself but the problem is that I'll have an eight year daughter with me. Likewise parking at Tesco wouldn't bother me but I wouldn't want to have to guide a knackered eight year old back there in the dark given the nature of the roads in the area.

As far as buses go there is a shuttle bus service running from the town centre (Farrar Road - an area with little available parking) but this costs £5 so for two of us it would be more expensive that paying for the car park.

never mind all that, OP. If they're going to a festival, they'd better get cast iron bladders, or take bottles that can double up as loos, because the toilets aren't going to be pretty. I've been to some where theyre literally overflowing.

    Hello OP.

This is the way that i would see it,sure enough you have free tickets that other people have had to pay for, good on you for that.

Treat this as literally a treat, keep a little money aside just for this event,if you cannott sneak food or drink past the gestapo on the gates then hey ho! you and you daughter are going to have a good time.

Sure enough the food at the event maybe overpriced but its a one off i presume! go enjoy yourself and who knows you maybe talking about this event to your future grandchildren who will wince and look at you crestfallen and the mere mention of JLS and pixie lot.

Enjoy it,even if it cost a few pounds extra then you expected it to.

    Good luck.
