That's the ideal siting for a garden trampoline. You have to make sure the pit doesn't flood though.

Kittiwoz, you did not offend, but I wanted to explain that my comments should not be misconstrued or any other inference taken from them.

There is a fine line between safety and 'going over the top'. Everything has a risk, as a parent you have to identify and assess. Clearly my risk assessment is different to yours. That it not to say either of us are right or wrong.

This thread is in danger of going off topic so this will be my last comment on the matter of rights and wrongs.

My original posting on this thread was to assist Jazzycat by offering 'my' perspective. I hope it has done just that.

It doesn't seem to flood. I suppose it depends how high the water table is in your area. Probably worth checking before you dig!
We have a clay soil and when it rains heavily there's a shallow pool of water underneath but this drains away in a day or so.

My intention has been to give you my informed opinion as a coach, explaining why I have misgivings about garden trampolines. My concerns are shared by the British Gymnastics Association.

Having done so I have also pointed you to the best available guidelines for their safe use. From RoSPA and the british gymanstics association available from the downloads section of the website under trampoline gymnastics technical committee; BG garden trampolines statement.

This is the best advice I can possibly offer you. You may choose to ignore these guidelines but please appreciate that they have been formulated based on sound evidence by people whose professional knowledge of trampolining is to be respected.
