I'm having a problem with running a bath on a daily basis because whether I use the immersion, or use the timing function to heat water from my boiler, I can only heat half my bath!
Typically, I have the hot water on 3 hours in the morning, and 3 hours in the afternoon. I've also tried switching the immersion on for 20 minutes, but both tactics only heats half my bath!

Sounds like you are only using the boost immersion i.e. the upper mounted or short immersion in a top mounted cylinder.
You need to use the lower mounted or long immersion in a top mounted cylinder.
Hopefully, you don't have a top mounted cylinder and someone has installed just a short, single element immersion heater"Now to trolling as a concept. .... Is there a thermostat for the central heating system on the bath?

I have never seen this, but is it possible that you have a 150 litre cylinder,
with 100 litre of limescale in it?0
