Friends Provident shares

I used to have 936 friends prov shares, which became resolution, and now I have only 93 f&c shares, I was sent a cheque for £743 on 20.11.09 and the note on my spread sheet says sold no choice.
I cannot remember the numbers but think if you didn't have a certain number they sold them and sent the funds.
So is it possible you have had a cheque too ?0 -
Since rsl has dropped in price since then I think, you might want to rebuy your shares0

Not so on both accounts - you were given the option to sell out or take RSL shares - I only had 200 FP shares but converted to 180 RSL (I'm the next Warren Buffet, me)
Mind you, I don't know why I've got no F&C? Perhaps I took a payout on them? I would only have had 20 anyway :rotfl:A man is rich in proportion to the number of things he can afford to let alone - Thoreau0 -
I don't remember asking to sell my shares, could it be that if the paperwork wasn't returned the shares were sold by default?
We had some trouble with our post last year, due to a postman returning our mail marked gone away, infact I only got the f&c share certificate in the last few weeks, so that might be why my shares were sold, and I wrongly assumed they had to be.0 -

You should have been offered the option subject to postie delivering mail of course. I had a rights issue offer last year but docs never arrived at home. First thing I knew was when a cheque arrived and, when share price went xr, suddenly found my shareholding was a lot less valuable!

Very likely, my documents said all shareholders could elect to take RSL instead, but for holdings under a certain amount (might have been 5,000, but don't quote me on that...) the default was a payout. So if you didn't get your paperwork, then that's probably what happened.A man is rich in proportion to the number of things he can afford to let alone - Thoreau0 -
Sorry for dragging this old thread up but I just wanted to clarify a few things.
I've just had a clear out and realised that, even though I moved in late 2009, I still haven't told the FP/Resolution registrars my new address!:o
In 2009 I had 214 FP shares
In July 2009 I received a cheque iro the sale of 21 F&C shares.
As I have done nothing since, do I now still have 193 Resolution shares?
Who do I write to now to advise change of address? Can I do that by email or does it need to be a letter?
Presumably, if I do have some Resolution shares I would be due dividends. As I didn't advise my new address (even though I moved 2 years ago!!) are these payments now lost or would they still be in the system waiting to be paid?0 -
Resolution investor contacts should be able to give definitive answers

Excellent. Thanks for that. I'll get on with emailing them and see what they say I need to do.0
