Yes. Holidays booked at Jet2holidays.com are ATOL bonded package holidays.

This is in their T & C - is this a get out clause for a refund of unused days as a result of an ash clould delay?

    18. Delays to your flight
We will normally arrange for the following to be provided in the event of a flight being delayed (whenever reasonably practical) for two hours or more where the flight distance of 1,500km or less, for three hours or more where the flight distance is between 1,500-3,500km, and for four hours or more in the case of all other flights: meals and refreshments in a reasonable relation to the waiting time, and hotel accommodation where an overnight stay becomes necessary. Where long flight delays will result in lost holiday time, no refunds are given by accommodation owners for unused accommodation, as rooms are held for delayed arrivals, not re-let.

Yes, that clause appears to relate to a delayed flight. I.e. if a flight is delayed for 20 hours, and you loose a night, you will not get the cost of that night back from them. Pretty standard package holiday stuff.

So just how does that work if say flight is delayed for 4 days due to ash - do I lose those 4 days of the holiday? I only get for 3 days?? Is this the case for all packages then?

If it is a genuine package holiday and the start is delayed by more than 12 hours I believe you can opt for a refund of the whole package or a transfer to a holiday of equal value at a later date.

Ask whoever you are booking with.
