I have connected the USB to IDE SOHOUSB Easy IDE adapter to my PC. Windows Vista recognised it and installed the drivers but I cannot see the drive on my computer. The drive is correctly identified in device manager as WDC WD50 00AVJB-63YUA0 USB Device.
The drive I am trying to access is a WesternDigital WD5000AVJB, 500GB.
Any suggestions would be appreciated:T

Look in disk management and tell us what is in there.
Start - (right click) Computer - Manage - storage - Disk management.
As above; it probably just needs enabling and a disk letter.0 -
You need to go to Start -> All programs -> Administration or Administrator options -> Computer Management
In there select drives, You will see another hard drive without a letter assigned, Right click and select properties (I think) and select a drive letter for it and press ok
Done that assigned drive H:
Unfortunately, my PC could not read the drive until I reformated it:(. Not much good as a file revovery tool.
I shall put my Topfield PVR back together, try it and report back tomorrow:j
Many thanks to everyone for your very prompt, helpful advice and comments, Bob
