Lelli Kelly Shoes

MIL bought DD a pair of the strawberry lelli kelly shoes last week. She wore then for 3 hrs on the first day. When putting them away at night I noticed the name lelli kelly along the edge of the sole had worn off. Some of the letters were missing and it made the shoes look really scruffy.
I did not let her wear them again and called the shop. They advised to bring them back but as shop is 50 miles away I said it would not be immediate which was why I was calling to let them know I had a problem with the shoes.
i went back this week and was told it was a transfer and of course it will come off. i said that after 3 hrs wear on a 50pound pair of shoes I do not expect it to happen. Manager was rude and said we could stand here all day arguing about it but there is nothing I can do. I pointed out to her that I was not argueing and if anyone was it was her.
She refused to exchange the shoes as it is not a fault as transfers just come off!!.
Is there anything else I can do? I know Lelli kelly dont do returns if sequins fall off but this is a different problem. Is there a contact for lelli kelly direct?

  • its a very grey area. Most retailers will exchange but some will not as they say goods must be checked before leaving and can be down to wear and tear. In your case 3hours does not warrent that. best thing to do is visit consumerdirect.gov.uk as this has all of your rights.
You can telephone them or email them your query.
This is the official goverment consumer rights organisation.
    Hope that helps!

    Hi Freddie,

Thought I would let you know, that I used to have a shoe shop and I dealt with and stocked Lelli Kelly for 3 years. You would not have any joy from getting in touch with them directly i am afraid, they have such a strict returns policy that I doubt even arguing with the shop directly will make them change their mind, as the shop will know that Lelli Kelly will not accept them back and will not get a credit for them etc.
They will argue the point that it is just cosmetic, and that the actual shoe is not affected at all and so the use is not affected and so the item that you purchased is still fit for the purpose etc.
They are one of the worse companies I am afraid to deal with, so you can try directly, they are in Italy, but you will not be put through to anyone who can understand your complaint and just hand you back to the shop here in the uk that you brought them from.
Is it worth trying to paint over the writing with white nail varnish etc?? Just a thought.
I totally know where you are coming from, that is why I stopped stocking them in the end, as they changed their policies on returns and so that is why shops are very reluctant to exchange or refund on any terms now as the shop will be out of pocket themselves.
Sorry if you didnt want to hear this, but hope you can try and sort it out somehow but honestly do not think you will get much joy.

Thanks for the replies. Ashellis, that exactly what she said, it doesnt affect the wear of the shoe.
Just annoyed at price and such poor quality. Wont get them for her again.

Whilst it is annoying just let her wear them all the time - unless you do lots of special occasions children can't have shoes for best as their feet grow too quickly.

In three months they will be too small so make the most of the £50 spent.
