Just a heads up for anybody on the mainland using this Irish insurance company for car insurance. Just had a letter stating they can no longer supply car insurance on mainland UK, no explanation just my no claims cert for next insurance company. Pity as they offered good value. :(

I believe they've gone bump but are honouring any cover until it's expiry but will not be offering new policy's.

Is that open for all general UK motor insurance or provisional policies only?

    From the FSA website:

"The Financial Regulator in Ireland announced on 21 April 2010 that it is permitting Quinn Insurance Limited (QIL)to write new business on provisional motor insurance in the UK."

Until the provisional license holder passed their test when the premium went up a lot.
loose does not rhyme with choose but lose does and is the word you meant to write.

We insured our son with Quinn. They are now back in business but (in our case - i year no claim bonus on 18 year old) they were now very expensive. we have ended up doing Elephant (Admiral group)

They are open for both general and provisional car insurance as well as renewals for existing car policies.
