Do I have to include middle names on a flight booking

This may seem like a totally stupid question, but I do have a reason for asking, honest! When booking flights, I know you have to enter the names of passengers, and they have to match the names on the passports, but do you have to include middle names? For instance, if my passport said John Mark Smith, would it be OK to only have John Smith on the booking?

Yes only first name and surname required forget the middle one.

I booked flights recently and forgot the middle names, I emailed the airline and they confirmed it's fine as long as the first and surname match the passport.
