I,ve just been awarded higher rate mobility and not the care componement,
I,ve asked for a re consideration, and now Im having panic attacks as she said they could take away the original decision of awarding me mobility.
Iam applying for a disabled badge now but not if they take it away.
I cant remember what I told them originally 2 months ago.
But Iam worse now not better.
Can anyone help has it happened to anyone here thanks

Yes they can look at the whole award again and it can go up, down or stay the same. If you have good supporting evidence for your HRM you should be ok but there is the possibility that it can be taken away.0 -
I,ve read horror stories just now on here and telephone and cancelled them looking at it again. She said I have to put it in writing too and will do recorded.
They wont cancel it anyway will they,I was over the moon to recieve it. (for2 years too)0 -
It's nothing personal. They always look at the whole award if you ask them to look at it again just as they will when it comes up for renewal. If you have medical evidence to back it up you shouldn't be afraid of asking but I can understand why people get worried.
No if you have withdrawn your recon request they've no reason to reconsider it.
As an aside you can always ask for a copy of your claim form for future use. You also have the right to ask them to look at it again at any time outside the one month period. However any increase (or decrease) will only start from the date they receive your request and not the actual start date of the award.I'll get you, my pretty, and your little dog too!0 -
Hi maxfactor, I recently wrote them a letter asking whether they would reconsider my care rate - I had been awarded HRM and LCR indefinitly.
I was very worried about the fact that I could lose the whole award (as it can happen) but after careful consideration I felt that it was something I needed to do. I was successful (so it can be done) and within 3 weeks I was awarded HRM and HRC indefinitely. The higher care rate and premiums were backdated.
Whenever you send them an application form make sure you make a copy so that you can refer to it at any point - it will also help you when the time comes to re-apply and it will be a guide to whether your condition has improved or deteriorated. Also keep all other correspondence regarding your claim.
Good luck with your claim.;)0 -
Was on HRM and LRC for 5 years i had the renewal forms and was awarded HRM only.
I phoned them up and asked them to look again at the decision, they said do i have any more proof i didn't it was all on the forms anyway.
I then got the LRC re-instated and HRM unchanged.0
