Flexible travel advice needed!

Hoping someone out there in MSE land can help!

I am looking to book a holiday and the only constraint I have is a budget of £1000 for 2 people. Our dates and where we go are completely flexible, however, when conducting searches on travel websites (expedia etc) I find that they do not offer a flexible search and that I have to stipulate where and when I want to travel.

Does anyone know of any websites or company's that offer the facility of a flexible search???

Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated!!!

Thanks :)

  • Hello! best thing to ask is if there is anywhere you WOULD NOT go to? Travel Web-sites cover most of the package hols, ie Thomson, etc...but don't cover tailor-made holidays. So....on travel web-sites you have to put in SOME info.

If you'd like help from MSE members please post departure airports, board basis required, preferable duration, type of hol ie beach/city, etc...& you'll get some feedback & may be prices.

On https://www.bargainholidays.com you only need to enter your dates and it will bring up all destinations and the tour operator the holiday is with.

  • Thank you Gents!

The only places I wouldn't consider at the moment would be anywhere that is a possible danger spot, and I would prefer somewhere outside of Spain unless the deal is just unmissable!

Departure airports would a first choice of any of the following:
    London (all airports)
    Newcastle
    Durham Tees Valley

    however, again this is flexible.

    Many Thanks!

  • You do really need to sit down and think about where you want to go first. On that budget anywhere in Europe would be available, plus America and probably Africa and Asia. How about having a consultation with a travel agent - they would be better than a website as they could rule out many options for you without you having to wade through them on a list. Of course don't book through them without then checking on the net to see if you could get a similar holiday at a better price.
