monarch- rearranging ash cancelled flight

Hi,
My dad's flight from Malaga to Manchester today has been cancelled due to ash. Does anyone have any tips from last time to beat ages on the phone to monarch customer services. Its the return leg so i don't think i can change it online.

Hi Ya,
Monarch were an absolute nightmare, we were unable to get through to them last time on any of the numbers they gave us and they didn't reply either to any of our emails. Other people that had booked directly with Monarch were able to change details on website but because we had booked through low cost holidays we were unable to do this. The other option is to turn up at the airport with cases and hope to get back on standby when they start flying again but again we waited 18 hours and still ended up having to pay another £550 to fly back with BMI baby, but that was last time and there were 1000's of passengers. Good luck it's a horrible feeling not being able to get home.
