Strange response from New Look customer services!

I havent heard of this but sounds reasonable I think as emmell states, to verify the damage was caused by them......
but just an idea, rather than post the watch, would they let you take the watch into a New Look store to have one of their managers verify? Personally would be more confortable with that than posting it through the mail (unless they want to do "scientific tests" on it):beer:0 -
I agree with Lorac29, see if you can take it into a local New Look store and get a receipt for it (something in writing to state they have taken the watch). If it's like the store I worked in it will then be sent to Head Office.

Thanks for your suggestions. I came back just to post that New Look have not responded to the most recent fax sent on 11 May. Good idea about taking the watch in, I expect the staff will be a bit defensive though!0

I would guess most of their 17YO teenage giirls would be unqualified to offer an opinion or outcome.;)0 -
Latest from New Look: they want my watch and jacket sent recorded delivery to them and will either:
a) offer a refund for both items then keep my watch as well as the jacket (if they deem the jacket to have ruined the watch);
b) send it back with a postage refund and no compensation.0 -
You could just buy a new watch strap and send them the receipt for it, together with the old strap.
If they deem the jacket is at fault they can send you a refund for the jacket and watch strap and you get to keep your expensive present.
If they say it's not the fault of the jacket you've only lost the price of a watch strap, which you would have to replace if you wanted to keep the watch anyway.Accept your past without regret, handle your present with confidence and face your future without fear0
