Have the car schemes stopped??

Just manufacturer offers. They won't be doing the scrappage scheme again I doubt.0

Have a google, quite a few manufacturers, like Nissan, Hyundai and Kia are still making special offers.0

The scrappage scheme was a bit of a con, I have just bought a new Panda for £6500 inc metalic paint. Now the scrappage car would have been £5400 but I got £250 for my old car (private sale) so that is £6250. Now here is the best bit, without the scrappage deal I got a much better deal on finance so the overall cost is actually the same.
It seems the scrappage scheme simply boosted dealer profits and helped the consumer to think they have got a good deal.
As the government only gave £1k towards the scrappage deal you out to be able to get at least £1k of list anyway but on top of that most cars are automaticaly discounted from list anyway.
The conclusion is if you car is worth around £1k you can get better deals than you could have done with the scrappage scheme anyway.
If my Corsa didn't blow up I would have actually been quids in by not buying on scrappage.0 -
If you don't mind me asking, what kind of finance deals are being offered on the Panda? I'm very tempted by one myself, I have an elderly car with ever increasing MOT bills, but it's a 50 mile or so round trip to the Fiat dealer, so would be nice to have an idea of the cost before I make the trip.
Thanks
Oh, and what are they like for overtaking/motorways?0
