Currys the saga continued...

Ok, so a while back I posted in the main thread above about my LG TV from Currys.
So they refused to entertain my request for a replacement and we agreed a repair with a short turn around. Well the TV came back, it was NOT repaired, they damaged the back of the TV (looks like they spray paint or something) and subsequently it went away again. That all took 13 days
Now I'm aware of the 28 day policy, however I'm not aware of the "small print" involved in it. Well except the rule if you report the problem has not been fixed within 3 days it's classed as a continuation.
Anyway having noticed the fault was still there and the newly added damage to the set, I registered the fault on the same day, who offered for it to be picked up again. Unfort, it was too short notice and on a work day, but I said to book it, on the off chance they might come when I get home from work.
However the drivers called.. I was at work, but he informed me to drop it off at my local currys store. So that evening I took the TV away, explained the situation and booked the TV in. 4 days later, I received a text saying it was being picked up....
Now my question is this, as the TV has already been away for 13 days and at this current point has been away (from the shop) for 11, despite me giving it to them 15 days ago... does this apply under the 28 day rule?
It probably doesn't but who knows?

That'd be me (nearly right, jdtuark

The 28 days starts from either the day you take it into the store, or the day the engineer makes their first call. Yours is a bit more complicated, so here's how I would run it:
First 13 days: First repair (13 days total)
Next day: failed collection, taken into store (13 days still)
Four days at store before collection (17 days)
Away from shop - 11 days (28 days)
Now, I assume you have a copy of the repair docket the store gave you; as that should say on it about the 28 day exchange, and how it is measured.
Quite frankly, if it were my store, I wouldn't really bother calculating whether the days in store did or didn't count or if it was a separate repair the second time (it's not). It's 28 days to me.Squirrel! If I tell you who I work for, I'm not allowed to help you. If I don't say, then I can help you with questions and fixing products. Regardless, there's still no secret EU law.

Yes, I have the repair docket (funnily no date on this to say it was the 26th), the text message for pickup and all other paperwork related into getting this TV repaired. So worth a trip to my local store tonight then or call customer service?

Well went to the store and spoke to someone (think it was a supervisor). Basically he said the people who would chase it up are not in at that time, so he took my details for them to contact me tomorrow.
Asked if I was looking for an update or if to be written off.. so asked for the TV to be written off as it's now 29 days.
So lets see what happens tomorrow..
Stay tuned!
