How & where to buy decent curtains (not expensive)
easy
We are moving my son into a different bedroom, and I need to buy some new curtains for the 2 windows in there. He wants green curtains, I just want to buy some ready made.
Its soooo long since I last bought any, I can't remember how to measure for them.
The window recesses measure
Window 1 62cm wide X 135 cm high
Window 2 120cm wide X 135 cm high
I just want the curtains to drop a couple of inches below the window frame.

I try not to get too stressed out on the forum. I won't argue, i'll just leave a thread if you don't like what I say.

I suppose it depends on how decent you want, I bought some red curtain at Asda online for my DS bedroom and was delighted with the quality although they are unlined, they are thick and heavy full length and I think about £20.0

Dunelms normally have some nice curtains i got my bedroom ones fully lined for £25 and they are lovely thick material :-):jFriends are like fabric you can never have enough:j0

I like Ikea, just becuase you get to see what you are buying beforehand. And prices are nearly always low!Mummy of 3 lovely munchkins :smileyhea0

Dont forget when looking at the sizes on the packaging the measurements are per curtain not for the pair :-):jFriends are like fabric you can never have enough:j0

ebay, dunelm, ikea, asda. I always buy curtians from these 4 places, never been disappointed. On ebay i always tend to try and get 'next' curtians that i have seen instore.0

For width you need to measure the length of your curtain pole not the width of the window. For length, you'll need to allow an extra 8-10 inches to allow for the heading tape and the short 2 inch drop you want. When buying ready made err on the side of longer rather than shorter though, as you can always take them up with iron on tape if they are a bit longer than you'd like, but they are a pain to lengthen if you buy them too short.0
