Interesting how Adam Boulton - husband of Anji Hunter, Tony Blair's gatekeeper and personal spinner - has fallen out of fashion with the Labour big-hitters.
Mandelson laid into him about a week before the election, in the way that only Mandelson can, responding gently "calm down, Adam, calm dooownn" when Boulton pressed him for an answer....

You got to watch the history between these too. There are other vids of them speaking together, and campbell consistently answers questions by telling boulton he's biased, and that he's upset it hasn't gone the conservatives way, and basically, being quite provocative.

Boulton embarrased himself completely. But can see why he blew, as if you had seen or heard the things Campbell and Mandleson were accusing Boulton of on election night, for no apparent reason other than not liking the polls coming in, its understandable Boulton got sick of it.

I guess the best thing would have been for Boulton to decline to interview him, but both Boulton AND Campbell knew they were up against each other. Straight away, Boulton is jumping all over him not letting him answer, and then Campbell gets caught out with the question, stumbles, so reverts back to his usual tactic of accusing bias etc.

I believe Sky News has been in contact with Campbell about libel before now, from what I read, as they have strict guidelines to follow.

It would get to me if I asked a question civally on polling night, and all I got in response was "calm down Adam, calm down" all the bloody time, when he was perfectly calm, just asking a question they didn't know how to answer, or indeed, didn't want to answer.

OK, I've just watched the correct clip

Much as I dislike Campbell, I think Boulton is being a total idiot.

    Embarassingly brilliant TV.

Try watching without the sound. Boulton looks like an aggressive drunk looking to pick a fight on a saturday night.

Or try watching or listening to every BBC interview with Michael Gove, who invariably accuses the BBC of bias. Yet to see a BBC presenter having a hissy fit about it.

So you are asking me to watch the video, without the sound, and therefore, I will be able to make half a judgement only, and come up with the conclusion that Boulton was completely to blame.

In other words, take no notice of one side?

Actually I imagined Dev being the interviewer when I read that icon7.gif reminded me of him, then I see him defending the bloke:eek:
