But these bags are not any cheaper than the bottles!!!
I buy Organic milk(usually more expensive) 4 pts bottles are 2 for £3 which works out as the same price as these bags of non organic milk. Sainsbury's must be making more money out of this while pressing the "green" aspect.
Incidentally where does one recycle the bags this milk comes in? I always chuck my milk bottles in the recycling but the council don't take any kind of bags.
It's only a game

I still use the milkman - it's 1p more a litre but I don't have any waste and I don't recycle. The milk bottle helps reduce waste which is higher up the waste hierarchy. Plus I don't need to expend any energy (like petrol) going to the shop to buy just milk which is also bad for the environment. Okay - I have to wash out the milk bottle so I waste a little water. However, if pay as you throw ever gets introduced (which is more likely in the long term), everyone will be switching back to the milkman!!!:rotfl:0

I got one of these today when the Shopping got delivered. My mother-in-law uses milk packets over in Canada but they've been around there for some time. I was thinking about posting it off to her as she'd probably have a little more use for it than I would"Eternals I hear your call gladly, Dictate swift winged words, & fear not to unfold your dark visions of torment"0

I went to my local Sainsburys today. The jugs were there but were priced at £1.98, they were only free if you bought the milk as well. The milk was at 80p each (1 litre) or at a promotional price of two for £1.50, thus making it only 75p a litre, but this is in actual fact more expensive than the ordinary carton of one litre milk which is priced at 74p a litre. The usual price for a 2 litre carton milk is £1.28, so if you were to buy the single pouches of milk, this will work out quite a bit more expensive over the week, especially if your family drinks milk like its going out of fashion - as in my house!

Then i can only say that perhaps in the OP's store it is, but definitely not in mine. I can buy 2 litres of milk for 99p in other supermarkets but in sainsburys, it is 74p for 1 litre, and £1.28 for two litres. The bags at 80p standard price or £1.50 for the 2 x 1 litres are definitely more expensive. As i always recycle anyway, for me to buy these bags i am actually adding to waste as the bags will not go into my Kerbie box so i would be adding to the regular rubbish that i wouldnt normally.
