What happens to my holiday??

I am due to fly to gran canaria saturday 15th may, with jet2, part of a package holiday booked with Thomas Cook.
Ive been told ill be refunded by Thomas Cook, only if flights are cancelled for that day, however, if the flight is just delayed and rescehuled for the next day or more i have to take them flights, so i will be losing a days holiday at the least... Is this right that i should lose days of my holiday.

Lose a day or lose the whole holiday?

What do you want to do?

I'm interested in the replies too ~ we've booked to go away twice this year so would like to know what would happen if we find ourselves in the same situation.

They wouldn't lose the whole holiday though because they would be refunded and could book some else for the full 7/10/14 days.

^^^^I suppose it depends on the notice given and whether booking something else was an option and indeed possible

If those are the T&C then you may well have to go with it.

Life isn't fair but losing 1 day of your holiday is better than losing the lot. Last week when the greeks were on strike the people that should have flown wednesday flew out thursday instead, they lost a day of their hols but at least they got to go, id sooner lose 1 day than have no holiday because unless you dont work can you actually get the time to reschedule for in a few days time, i know i couldnt. As for the lost day you may get some compensation off the tour operator or you claim off your insurance.

I wonder what the difference between delayed/re-scheduled and cancelled is in law? If they don't put an extra flight on the day they put that flight back to isn't that classed as a cancellation? if it is delayed/rescheduled there will presumably be an extra flight put on. I would be interested if anyone knows the answer as it would appear to have quite an affect on our rights to refunds etc.

Not an expert but is it to do with flight numbers ie if your original flight is tcx60l and the one you actually go on is different then your original flight has been canx and you have been put on a new flight!! Maybe wrong but im sure someone will put me right.
