Hi Ron,i too have type2 Diabetes{since Jan this year} controlled with diet, exercise and meds{Metformin500mg} and have been told by my diabetic nurse that passing out was highly unlikely as a type2 but more so if you are a type1.

I find that keeping a supply of oat cakes in my handbag helps with the blood sugar levels but have found that if I space out my meals then I don't start to have carb cravings and usually by the time 9.30 in the evening comes around I have already taken my evening dose of Metformin with my evening meal which usually keeps me going until the next day as it has already started to do its job.

I myself wouldn't eat a mars bar as they are too high in sugar, but would rather have the oat cakes or a banana if I was that desperate, but now I have my sugar levels under control {6.3}don't have the carb cravings that much now.

Good Luck with your problem but like other posters on here you might have a hard job proving your case unless you get a Dr's letter stating the fact that you need to eat at times to control your feelings, and I do know how you feel at times because I was like that before diagnosis and meds...

Yes, ur right, highly unlikely to pass out, but I wouldnt say I feel safe to drive when im like that! you know the sweats and the fact you feel like you will go sleep at any minute.....

p.s its diet controlled for now, the doctor said im young to have type 2 so said to use that avenue 1st, blood level was just shy of 13..... keep around 6 now, but for some reason it has dropped below 4 sometimes....Im pretty sure i can get a doctors note........

and i know i shouldnt have a mars bar, just thre 1st and the quickest thing i could grab, and i knew it would temporarily fix me........

I dont see that the doctors note would be a problem...

If it's diet controlled, how can you be munching mars bars?!

To be honest, no-one can really give an answer unless you do.

would i need to take the photo at night time? to show the light?

or maybe this helps? the sign is not there yet, but the sign has got the council covered from that aspect..........they have the right sign to go with 2 yellow stripes on the kirb, and the no parking at any time one above it, (both about letterbox size) everything else is the same, I can still take a photo to provide to the council but maybe you can spot some other angle i should take a photo from, im not sure........

Right, the first thing is to work out how to post links to images. What you do is to take your pics/scans/copies and host them on tinypic. This will give you a url, copy this and paste the link into a post and remove all good browsers will bring up the page. Next is to take pics of both sides of the pcn and lines/signs of the bay and remove all personal details but leave dates, host as above.

Right, here goes, from a few locations just in case any of it helps. H T T P ; // needs adding,

    PCN both sides (edited)

    the sign

    sign from side

Could the fact that it states its a controlled area up until 6.30pm be some sort of contradiction?

    Thanks again!

Appeal with proof from your doctor that you have diabetes.

Extenuating medical circumstances are reason to cancel a PCN.

    Thankyou Alexis,
Can i ask how you know this or if I need to quote anything specific when appealing? Or better still could you point me towards any other cases that have had the appeal accepted on this basis?

Obviosuly I can get a note from my doctor to state my condition and I will use this, its just strange that I have found nothing on this topic anywhere online, it cant be that uncommon for someone to have to pull over somewhere due to medical issues, Im suprised its not mentioned in the main reasons to appeal.

I know it's a different council, but this shows they are at least considered:
    I had a medical emergency
Write to us explaining the situation and include a letter from the hospital or doctor as proof.
