LHA - signing off JSA, what is going to happen.

Hi,
I have been on JSA for around 6 months, and will soon begin claiming LHA. I will sign off JSA after aobut a month as I will probably be sent on a course, and I really dont want to go to the course as I have been before and my time is better spent searching for jobs on the internet and my own search.
If I tell the housing benefit team this does anyone know if they will stop my housing benefit/LHA? Of course I will be better off with the JSA money but I am just wondering if I will be allowed to claim LHA with zero income?
Would love to hear from any HB officers or anyone with personal experiences.
Thanks!!!

You can claim LHA on the basis of having a low/ no income. You do not need to be claiming another benefit in order to be entitled.Gone ... or have I?0

What will you live on to pay other bills?0

What will you live on to pay other bills?
This is exactly what I am expecting the council to say.
I have saved enough to keep me going for a couple of months. In addition to this, my bills are low as the water is communal (even if this does mean a drip drip water supply at peak times e.g. morning).
These are my exact circumstances. I am wondering if they will have a problem with this.0 -
A better approach: document carefully what you are doing to find work, and persuade your job centre not to send you on the course just yet.0

According to one of your other threads you have recently paid course fees to commence a course of study (you were asking about how to complain about the fact that you had paid for the fees upfront and then discovered you are not eligible for a grant for the course fees because you had already attained that level of education).
I only raise this, because if you are going to be a student, this may affect your eligibility for HB/LHA depending on how many hours a week you will be at college.I'm a retired employment solicitor. Hopefully some of my comments might be useful, but they are only my opinion and not intended as legal advice.0 -

Your still unemployed after 6 months and your not interested in the help thats being offered to you? Also what makes you think that the course the JCP will send you on is the same as the one you've previously been on?
Should you sign off and sign back on to avoid the course you may find yourself put straight back to Stage 3 and have to take the course anyway.0
