Hi
I planted some seeds a few days ago to grow on the windowsill, just some salady bits like rocket, radicchio and pea shoots. I got up this morning to find them all appearing :j. However, there are also some tiny toadstools appearing too!
Now, the compost and pots have not been outside at any point, so I am assuming the spores were already in the compost, is this normal or should I make a complaint to the manufacturer?
Thank you

It's quite normal, just break them off and they will go away.Freedom is not worth having if it does not include the freedom to make mistakes.0

I have also noticed some this year. More than last year but it's just the way it goes. No harm in writing and complaining though - they might send you a voucher or something.0

Ok, thank you! I will let them know anyway as I imagine other customers are having the same problem!0

Reclaimed compost? I read somewhere the compost from growing mushrooms was available cheap.Censorship Reigns Supreme in Troll City...0

Yep - I've got that as well - and thought "That compost manufacturer has used reclaimed mushroom compost I suppose".
I have been pulling the mushrooms/toadstools up as I come across them - but do wonder whether they are actually an edible variety. I havent liked to try them out - just in case...0 -
The mushrooms that are growing in your compost are definitely not the mushrooms you buy in Tescos. I doubt they are deadly, but please don't be silly enough to eat them!
The fact that there are mushrooms in the compost is nothing to do with using used mushrooms growing compost, that is sterilised to make sure that only the one type of mushroom grow in it.Freedom is not worth having if it does not include the freedom to make mistakes.0
