car parking near cardiff international arena
Hi.... we are going to see Westlife next week in the international arena, we did go a couple of years ago but I can't remember where we parked or how much we paid.
Are there any places near to the arena that are quite cheap for parking?? I looked on the ncp website and it says overnight rate is £2 after 5pm, is that really right??! It seems so cheap!
Many thanks in advance for your help!

If its after... I think 6pm... then you can park on COUNCIL owned pay and display spaces for nothing. The closest ones (that I know of!) to the centre are on Park Place -about a 10-15 min walk to the CIA.

Look on google maps and see what you think distance wise. Some NCP's in Cardiff are not the nicest!
or, St Davids shopping centre http://www.stdavidscardiff.com/Visitor-Info/Visitor-Info/Car-Parking £1 for evening parking. Though only open till 12.30 at night so would depend on when your gig ends.0 -
Oh, also, that NCP charge will be correct for evening parking. They make money during the day (the carparks are full to bursting) then in the evenings things are pretty quiet, plus there is free/cheaper parking available everywhere at night.0

Hi - I live in Cardiff. The new St David's (Dewi Sant) shopping centre, which is just behind the Cardiff International Arena (CIA) has a special £1 evening tariff from 5pm to 6am (it's open 24 hours). Link here:

thanks to you both, I do recall reading about the parking at St David's shopping centre, definately worth remembering when we get to Cardiff. I looked on the ncp website, from what I can see it was probably the car park at David Street that we parked last time, I know it was pretty close to the arena but I can't remember it being as cheap as £2!!0

Yes, agreed used it recently.
From Churchill Way, go into Bridge Street, turn first left 100 yds down the road turn left into car park (open air - not multi storey), and pay £1 (off card) on leaving.I used to work for Tesco - now retired - speciality Clubcard0 -
If you need other parking help in future try putting parkopedia in a search engine.
St David's is great at £1. Before it opened I joined the casino opposite the CIA (free to join + free bet + free drink) and got free parking in the nearby multi-storey with my membership, but you don't really need to do that these days unless you fancy a flutter & a free soft drink before the gig :beer:0 -
Thankyou to all of you that gave advice... we ended up parking in St David's, absolutely fantastic value at £1! Only problem being the amount of time it took to get out of the car park, couldn't have it all though so I'm absolutely glad we only paid £1!0
