Keysafe - does it affect your home insurance?

Due to several incidences of forgotten keys and the like, we are thinking of getting a keysafe. Does anyone know if this affects your home insurance?
The safe itself can be put out of direct view from the road, and seems safer than many less formal options. We are relcutant to contact our insurers direct first off in case they try to put on a premium...
All advice gratefully appreciated!

Having seen those key safe in work I don't think they stand up to much tbh. If a Yale type one might be better off with coded lock, If your going out of the house for any period of time you should be using a mortice lock most home insurance policy will be void if your only using a Yale lock.

Why not put a set of keys under a pot in a (trusted) neighbours garden?

We had one on my mums house so carers could go in easily. I would be surprised if it affects insurance as the little box was extremely strong, certainly harder to break into than the house's door itself!

Important to fit properly, holes drilled into brick and using the expanding bolt type fixing (ours came with them) Don't site it to high, you want to be able to block peoples view of you putting in the combination code with your body.

Was same or very similar to THIS one. room for a couple of keys.

I would check the small print of your policy first and then decide.

Many may not pay out if there is no sign of forced entry. Bearing that in mind, the risk you associate with someone locating and opening a key safe is something you may wish to weigh up.
