Sorry if someones already suggested this, but have you retrieved your half of the savings from her? That's a lot of money to walk away from.
  • I hate to admit being gullible but it was a joint account in my eyes yet it was a bank account in OH's name we always were going to change it once we moved house, (that was original plan) that wouldve been our deposit money and of course equity from my house and a joint mortgage, i had no reason to suspect anything we were believe it or not extremely happy hence the total shock anyway i hoped for along time she would return but last month divorce finalised i just was pleased she didnt try to get anything from my house so i guess i didnt want the hassle, she has gone now with her partner to live happily ever after i truly wish them luck i will get over this and be travelling Australia in 5 years with my house rented out, well thats the plan who knows what will happen!

Well trusting someone isn't a bad reflection on you. Breaking someones trust, as she did, is a bad reflection on her. Good for you for moving on. Good luck in your mortgage free journey. It's totally addictive - you have been warned!!

lots of ladies out there looking for someone to love second or third time round so dig out the platforms, chest wig and gold chain and have a ball.
  • I may eventually feel like having a ball but the chest wig and the chain i think i may leave behind ;) seriously though yep ive been taken for a fool and couldnt bring myself to speak about it for so long even hoping and praying in the end that she would come back even though i knew deep down the damage was done just so i could show face to work colleagues, neighbours, friends but i'm slowly coming out the other side i laugh now at how surreal it all was in the raw days when she asked if they could stay in my spare room, in a vague blur i do recall saying that was not the best thing for the situation, thank god anyway its amazing how so many say its men that behave like rats only thing ive done is be taking for a ride but at least i can hold my head up high even if my life savings are paying for their civil partnership oh well anyway ross and friends ive never watched that i must do to compare notes ;-) and laugh of all this is every sat night my ex and friends go out and she always sends me a text when i suspect intoxicated usually with some reference as to how i could change and who knows? woman are so complicated and they blame us ;-) anyway enough of that past life yep hoping to pay off in 5 be great to do it in 3 but would be good to pay off full stop!

you'll be much closer to Mortgage Free than your ex-wife will (wanna)be! :D
  • Hi all im afraid i have neglected you all lately this is mainly owing to my busy life, good news being i have been overpaying my mortgage £50 a week, i know its a small amount but £200 a month is having an effect im sure on my final end date, but most importantly 2 weeks ago my (ex) wife turned up asking for my help her and her 'partner' were over and could she move in temporarily, anyway after lots of talking she is going to pay me back with her board included £80 a week so £50 will go on the overpayments also so this will make it £100 she said she made a mistake and didnt know where her head was at deep down i knew it was only a matter of time before she would come back so all has worked out, i know many will think im making a mistake but we really talked this through and i realised how much i still missed and loved her i couldnt turn her away we are taking it slow and nothing is for granted she also told me a few home truths which i can see she may have a point and will work them out she has also realised what she wants and i have no issues or concerns with her returning to her 'ex partner' they do meet on a thurs still for a drink but nothing more, i am happy again and even feel like proposing all over again, ironic thing maybe this 'incident' made us both see what was staring us in the face, anyway 3 months shaved from mortgage and overpayment to increase soon! :T

I sincerely wish you the best, and hope all works out as you want. Please be a bit wary though, and protect your heart and wallet.

Well done on all your mortgage overpayments. You are managing more than i am at the moment.

I just wanted to say a late welcome. Good luck paying off the mortgage, well done for the payments made so far.

I'm glad you are happy again, but please make sure you look after your money this time round, at least for the short term. Good luck and I really hope it all works out for you:cool:
