Good evening all :)

Applied for the above bank account. At the end of the application after I submitted it stated:

"With in the next few days, we will send you an email containing the above reference number detailing the next steps in the process. Once your account is opened you will receive your card, pin and e-banking credentials through the post to the address you have provided in this application"

So given the above, can I comfortable sit and think *I have been accepted* ? Or would the above be just something pretty standard.

Any info on this would be appreciated.
Regards,

I think that it is a standard response & they will now do further checks on your credit file before giving you a definitive answer

Sanatnder are notoriously slow for sending out letters etc. If declined you will get an email in a few weeks. Make sure you kept a note of the application reference number.

With all due respect Santander are the last people I would open an account with. I would strongly suggest that you read through this forum and see what the general concensus on Santander is.

    Thanks to everyone who contributed.

Received an email this morning, confirming my acceptance.

Oh well...will have to see what they are like. I will keep my other current account "open" during the interim...
