try using the "search this thread" option for "swiftcover"

I think you will find there customer service is pretty universally slated

They are a totally web based operation so prices can be lower but so can service levels

I would urge you to search on here and for reviews on the internet as I can't remember seeing a good word said about them.

If the windscreen can be repaired rather than replaced, and you've got comprehensive cover, there is no excess to pay and your no claims are not affected. Replacement means you pay the excess (£65 in my case) and your no claims are frozen for a year. I think this is fairly standard with any car insurance.
I know this because I've had a repair and then a new screen within the same month!
As regards customer service, I've been with Swiftcover for four years and have found them no better or worse than other insurers I've dealt with. Their claims line is an 0871 number though, which can be a pain if they don't answer straight away.

Freezing the no claims bonus for the current year for a windscreen claim is actually fairly unusual in the industry.

This is a universal subject. We are also talking about Swiftcover on a car forum that I am a member of, I must say from the posts on our forum Swiftcover do offer the cheapest rates but nobody has experienced their after sales in the unfortunate event of an accident. I will also say that I am currently one of the gullible peeps that took up their offer BUT won't renew with them for sure. I'm suggesting through comment not proof that Swiftcover are not an insurer which give you any form of confidence when you read into their history............. Just an opinion, based on our car forum members ;)

Legal cover is a £25 option with Swiftcover, so you'll need to consider if there are any other benefits with the Tesco policy that you need or want. Does it include a courtesy car for example?
