driving licence - is this correct?

Is it an offence? I wasn't aware that is was, only that paper licences were no longer being issued and people are being "encouraged" to change.

It's an offence if your photocard is out of date, but it doesn't mean you can't drive. The fine is £1000.

Oh dear, really? dammit.. I've just been made redundant and prob still can't afford it.. looks like I will have to prioritise this now tho, thanks for advice..

So if your photo licence has expired, where is the valid licence that lets you drive?

The paper bit is still valid.
