Some newspapers are wrapped in it, could it be the local newspaper delivery person? (or was it outside a shop?)
Some days you're the dog..... most days you're the tree! :D

Trying to prove negligence here is going to be very difficult, if compensation is what you are looking for.

This may not be the right forum to post this but can anyoue help.

My mother has fallen and hurt herself, she got her foot stuck in some blue strapping tape and tripped up, she will be OK, no broken bones, but is pretty shook up, bruised and bleeding.

Does anyone know which delivery company uses this stuff, we counted and there is 8 discarded tapes on the street, we've been to the Post Office to raise hell but they say it's not them.

All we want to do really is stop whoever it is from dropping them, someone could get really hurt.

why would you go to the post office?

those tapes are used by many many companies
from packaging to the likes of meat suppliers
    look around the area
what businesses are around the area?

this is why any place using these straps should ensure they are cut/split before disposal

What day of the week was it? Reason l ask is it may be the local free papers that may be dropped of at a local house. Perhaps have a walk along that road on the same day of the week as the fall to see if you can find bundles of papers on a doorstep.

If l am right, and you could prove they came from somones house l feel you may be able to claim against them via their house insurance...sure someone will correct me if wrong on that point

Thanks for the replies, I thought it may be newspapers, especially when there is so many of them but I thought they used white strapping tape for newspapers, it wasn't outside a shop, it's a street of houses, we are not looking for compensation, we just want to stop whoever is dropping them before someone is really hurt.

Sorry for the rant but we are feeling quite upset by it.

They don't just use white they use blue, yellow and red as well, I used to take the deliveries in sometimes when I worked at Sainsburys. And when I used to do the free paper they had blue ones and had quite often already fallen off when I went to take them in, always made sure I picked them up and put them in the bin though.

I would have thought it was quite obvious it wasn't the post office/royal mail it would slow them down having to undo all this strapping each time, they just use elastic bands.
