was having a nose around here and there and philips have done a 21:9 true cinema tv aspect ratio.
model 56PFL9954H/12 about £3000
http://www.consumer.philips.com/c/cinema-21-9/30849/cat/gb/
unforunately is lcd which is a bit of a shame considering there is now 3d led tvs out there my question is apart from philips are any other manufacturer out there working on this aspect ratio at all?
which seems to be a leap forward but led 3d would seem to be best option going forward, thoughts please???

You are confused as to what an LED TV is.
An LED TV, still uses a Liquid crystal display, but has an LED back light rather than a florescent one. That gum you like is coming back in style.0 -
Philips have the only tv that im aware of with that aspect ratio
Bear in mind that SD programs would look awful on it and even standard widescreen would have pretty large bars either side:idea:0 -

seems i misunderstood the technology on this occasion i thought the purpose of the led tvs was mirco leds becoming the pixels rather than changing the backlights to led. which sort of becomes a cop out of calling it a true led tv really imho.
for people want to read look here http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/LED_TV
