Can't you just try asking them to buzz off?0

im only concerned about the bee because im about to start stripping the existing decking stain with the power washer and dont want to end up getting chased by a nest full of bees!!
unless anyone knows of another method of stripping decking stain??
Very unlikely there are many down there, regardless of the type. It's too early in the year.
And yes, you can grow shrubs among ivy, but I wouldn't. Surely, where you can get at it, there isn't much need to pull it up, more than, say, once every 6 months?0 -

what do you mean by pull it?
Surely that wont pull it away from the fence will it? i'll just end up pulling the fence down0 -
bumble bees are solitary btw please try to leave them alone they have a hard enough time as it is. The only things you get hives of in thsi country really is wasps and on occasion honey bees but there rare. I've no suggestion about the Ivy0

You may need to go at it with garden secataurs (sp?), tedious but less likely to damage the fence, but it will come back if it's growing up the other side of the fence.
I have ivy in my garden under the shurbs, I didn't plant it there, and I know my neighbours over the fence didn't either, it just seems to appear. I have left it be because it surpresses the weeds to some extent.0 -
Could have neighbours like mine, I planted some fruit bushes a while ago. Just as they start to get established a new neighbour moves in.
I asked them if they like fresh fruit & do the want me to let the bush grow over their fence.
Oh yes please was the response, I told them if it needs or they want it training along the fence or trimming back just let me know.
1st summer no problems, We both had a bit of fruit. Not a huge amount but i said it will be better next year.
Said again if they want it cutting back or training let me know, Went away for a few days came back & they had just torn it all away where it hung over the fence.
Not sure what else they had done but it died soon after. Dont speak to them anymore.
