Having a few issues with my car.

Put petrol in but the petrol light stayed on and the gauge didn't move, took a while before it moved up and the light to go off. I also noticed a message above millage displaying LnSP.

Does anyone have any ideas what this is all about, the has just been repaired and moted passed after repairs.

  • How old is the car?

My girlfriends Corsa takes a while for the fuel gauge to register that petrol has been put in. Can sometimes take about a minute.

Think the Lnsp stands for Inspection, when was the last time you had it serviced?

Probably a faulty sender unit in the fuel tank. On my old Corsa of this era I just used to reset the trip meter and fill up every 250 miles.

As previously mentioned, INSP stands for Inspection - means it's due for a service. If you want to get rid of this ( for instance, maybe you're going to do the service yourself ), then just Google for "Reset INSP". The methods are slightly different for different models, but very easy, and go along the lines of keeping the trip reset button pressed whilst you turn on the ignition. Here's one method, but as I say, Google will throw up dozens of similar posts, just find the one that fits your particular model :

    CORSA C INSP RESET PROCEDURE>

    -2003
press and hold the mileage reset button (center/left side of instrument cluster)
    switch ignition on
the display will flash for 2 seconds
keep button A depressed until '---' appears in the display
    release button A
    switch ignition off.

    2003-
press and hold the mileage reset button (center/left side of instrument cluster. approx after 3 seconds the letters 'INSP 0' will appear in the display.
continue holding button A, depress the brake pedal and switch the ignition on.
the letters 'insp ---' will start flashing in the display to be replaced after approx 10 seconds with the message 'INSP xxxxx m'
release button A, brake pedal and switch off the ignition.
