Hi,
I planted out on Saturday 12 healthy 6in frenchies....
Went back today to cover up my vulnerables ( FROST !!!+ SNOW COMING!!!)
Only to find that something has eaten most of the leaves....
The leaves seem to be plucked off the main plant and fallen back near the plant...
No nibbles on the leaves ?
No slimy slug / snail trails...???
No aphids?
I am rather confused.
I have covered them with a mesh now to stop birds - if it was birds that is !
Any ideas ???

if the stems have been eaten it could be ants or maybe even mice but only guessing0

Not ants, they do not eat plants
I would put a bet on birds, wood pigeons maybe, but slugs / snails also love beans, I always put pellets down whenever I plant out beansWhen an eel bites your bum, that's a Moray0 -
I would put some netting down if you can (cheap to buy) I know something last week had a go at my raised beds and its either birds or mice.0
