I think that it is advisable to use a credit card for all purchases, they offer far more protection than a debit card. Card purchases can sometimes be delayed and I do not think that complaining will achieve much. Good luck any way.Money is a wise mans religion0 -
Sorry - it was just all your fault.
There is no guarantee with a debit card (or a credit card come to that) that payment will be taken in a set period.
I would expect they actually took the money on 6 May just prior to delivery and that it hit your account on the 8th0 -

Your fault I'm afraid.

I have to agree with all the others, you should have checked your statment before spending the money. Just let it be a lesson to you to always, always, check your balance and don't spend any money that is earmarked for something else. That may save you a lot of money in the future in overdraft charges.
I believe that a company has years to debit money that you owe them from your account (altough I guess usually it would never take more than a few months at the most).0 -
One other thing to remember, when you order stuff online, they're not supposed to take payment til the goods are dispatched, so if delivery takes a while, then so will the payment (as long as they abide by the Distance Selling Regs
...).
I'm afraid this time you'll just have to put it down to experience and take your lumps.A man is rich in proportion to the number of things he can afford to let alone - Thoreau0
