I have agreed a DMP with CCCS and have made my first payment this month.
however i have just had a call from MBNA who said that they need an extra £12 this month only to stop the account being referred to an outside agency.
FYI, the account is 4mths in arrears and they have offered to refund two months of fees as a sweetner.
My question is, if i pay the additional ammount will this null and void the DMP as i am not treating all creditors the same? also if i do will they then ask for the additional £12 every month?

MBNA are horrible-Barclaycard agreed to freeze the interest and halve the payments as soon as I called them-MBNA flatly refused
Hope someone knows the answer to your question. Debts Jan 2014 £20,108.34

There's others who can probably advise you better than me, but likelyhood is that your credit record is shot to pieces anyway plus a DCA is likely to be easier to deal with too.
I'd tell MBNA to stuff it and let them pass your debt on. What do you othersw think?Debt as at 12th July 2006 - £61,345
Debt free 21st Oct 2011.
All thanks to :money:0 -
James is right tell them to stuff it I know MBNA they will just keep coming back for more - let them sell it on - happiest day of my lefe when they sold my debt to Westcot they accepted the DMP haven't heard a word from them in months. MBNA are B*stards and it is unfair to your other creditors.0

This is not the first thread to report this type of approach from MBNA - they seem to be a law to themselves. I too am trying to negociate with MBNA with no luck either. Even though I told the guy that I had no money, he said he was authorised to accept a post-dated debit card payment. I often wonder what planet these people are on.:rolleyes:I am NOT, nor do I profess to be, a Qualified Debt Adviser. I have made MANY mistakes and have OFTEN been the unwitting victim of the the shamefull tactics of the Financial Industry.
If any of my experiences, or the knowledge that I have gained from those experiences, can help anyone who finds themselves in similar circumstances, then my experiences have not been in vain.

I always use the "fair to all creditors" approach myself.
I don't get too much trouble from MBNA myself these days because they seem to have learnt that they can't bully me![strike]-£20,000[/strike] 0!0 -

ECHO everyone above i am with the MBNA also, and from experiance they will try every tatic in the book so you pay them! they are not interested in who else you owe or even if you owe other more the only way they will except your payments are:
the outstanding figure must be able to be cleared in 10 years (based on th amount you are paying)
cancel PP insurance to lower the amount being added each month
they will threaten default (like that makes much difference!)
my advice youare paying what you can afford CCCS have divied out what they deem as appropraite amount based on your circumstances, they will advise you against paying any more i do too!
my advice when they ring do not disclose any personal info if they aask can you confirm your dob or your address say no im sorry i have been experiencing crank calls so any informatrion you have or require please put in writing and you will reply with haste
