Travelling to Sydney then Wollongong..

We are taking a "flying visit" to Sydney then onto Wollongong with a view to moving there! :T

Any tips on what to do in Sydney (we have only 2 days here) then Wollongong would be much appreciated - we are very interested in schools @ W'gong - daughter will be starting years 11/12 in January

With only 2 days I would probably take a walk around the CBD & botanical gardens and a ferry round the harbour (Circular Quay to Darling Harbour takes you round under the bridge so you get great views of the opera house). If the weathers nice a trip to Manly (via ferry) is pleasant and I love the Zoo. Not cheap but the bridge climb is supposed to be excellent or there is a cheaper option of just going up the towers.

Can't help with Wollongong as I've only ever stopped their briefly (the icecream shop on the harbour is very good ). I'd suggest trying the Australian forum on britishexpats.com for info on schools etc. for Wollongong as there are some people on the board who have moved to the area.
