Best way to get a refund.

Hi all,
This sort of thing has been covered many times before I'm sure, but here's my situation.
About four months ago I ordered a telescope part online from a company. Did a secure online payment straight from my bank account, and the money was taken almost instantly. Several weeks went by and I'd heard nothing, so I emailed the company. No response. A week or so later and I called and spoke to one of the sales assistants, who said he would look into it and get back to me the next day. No response. All the while the item was appearing as "In Stock" on their website.
After another couple of weeks I tried again, and was again told that someone would look into it and get back to me. Nothing. So I phoned up and cancelled the order, which they seemed fine about.
Several weeks later, no refund had appeared. I've now called them another two times, asking for my refund to be sorted, and every time I'm told it will be looked into and I will be contacted, but still I've no refund in my bank account and I've not been contacted once.
I'm quite sure they'd treat a letter from me in the same way they're treating my phone calls, so I'm wanting to know what's the next step forward to get these people to refund my money?
Thanks,
Tim.

Write a letter before action (google it for examples) giving the company 14 days to either come up with the goods or a refund -- you choose. Tell them that if that doesn't happen you will pursue them through the courts for what they owe.
Send it recorded delivery.

Thanks for that suggestion, I sent a letter before action, still no response. As it's "only" £75 is pursuing them through the courts advisable? Isn't going to cost so much more than that?0

I think it costs around £30. The fee is on that website quoted in post #2.Thanks for that suggestion, I sent a letter before action, still no response. As it's "only" £75 is pursuing them through the courts advisable? Isn't going to cost so much more than that?
The fee is recovered when you win.
Did you give them 14 days to reply?
Their time isn't up yet, is it?
If you want your money back, start the MCOL process.0
