Monday 10th May - What small DFW things have you done today?!

When we start out on the DFW trail we do loads of "big stuff" that makes quite a difference to our situation. These include having our lightbulb moment, cutting up the credit cards and cancelling Sky and the gym.
But once we have done the bigger stuff, we often feel that we are not making the same amount of progress, when in fact the small steps are helping us form good financial habits and helping us get closer everyday to staying in control and becoming debt free, or staying debt free
Examples could be charging your phone up at work instead of at home to save your electricity, hanging washing out instead of using the tumble dryer or leaving your purse/wallet at home to avoid the risk of spending.
So be proud of those small steps, they really are important
Good morning people....hooray the sun is out:T
Looks like you all had busy weekends, we did too - was my DD2's 13th birthday yesterday so we went to my sisters. Had a meal out saturday night and spent the day at hers yesterday, then chinese takeaway when we got home v nice. DD2 was very spoilt, lots of goodies:p
DD1 got her SATs today...bless her.
OK, must crack on with my list:
Have a fabby day:beer:

Morning everyone
Thanks for starting the thread Milly. Glad you had a lovely day yesterday with your DDs. I hate the thought of kids doing SATS so young - didn't do them in Scotland - really can't imagine what it must be like for them. I used to tutor for GCSE and even those kids seemed too young to be stressing over exams.
Littlekel - might you book your wedding today if the price is right??! That's so exciting! :T
Have a good sleep Mrs T!
Today I'm working from home. Got absolutely loads of reading and typing up to do so this is definitely the best place for me. I've been really stressing about it for a few weeks now (am convinced I'm doing it all completely wrong) so hopefully with a full day of it I'll feel a lot better. It's good and not so good for me on the DFW front as I need to make quite a few phone calls. I think I can claim back for them but probably not worth the hassle...or is that not the DFW way to think?!!
Cripes, sorry for my waffle... I shall list!- Renew library book
- HC in priority order - not sure how far I'll get, just need to see when I run out of space - prob 2 loads
- Check banking/cc/ebay/pigsback

- HM cheese straws using pastry going off in the fridge
- Big shop arriving later today - will finalise meal plan then

Hi folks , well its cold and raining here in yorkshire - boo ! I'm up early on my day off due to an early appointment, not going to the garden centre due to the miserable weather so may get things done at home today

So today i will :- weekly shop from list I can't work out how its costing so much , I can't carry on eating at this rate

- check banks - don't want to its scary and 17 days to payday  Really wishing i hadn't looked, will have to see if i can make petrol stretch till end of month
- check ebay - have a bid on one of my more expensive items and only listed it less than 12 hours ago :T more watchers , keep hoping
- Get ebid back up and running and list more items card verified but too stressed to consider listing today
- HC x2 but will have to put heating on to get them dry

- Ring / email / write to HMRC - MSing seems more hassle than its worth so un-self employ myself will write i think along with returning the certificate of small earnings to cover the charges they have sent me .

- surveys only qualified for 1 so far
- competitions done a few , more later

Well having looked at bank account I will be living very frugally for the rest of this month, no more wine , no more meals at work, no small treats (and they usually are small ). I don't think I will be buying my brother an anniversary pressie and he does so much for me . If I could make my teen understand it wouldn't be so bad. Oh well, think a good nights sleep and the last glass of wine are in order now. When it rains look for RainbowsWhen its Dark look for Stars0 - weekly shop from list I can't work out how its costing so much , I can't carry on eating at this rate
