faulty 2nd hand car how do i get my money back?

Options
I bought a second hand car from carcraft on 6th march 2010. 3 weeks later the brakes went. they collected the car and repaired it. i asked about a refund and they said no i could only accept a repair because it's 2nd hand. i was left without a car for over a week whilst they ordered parts and repaired it. less than 3 weeks later the same thing happened. they collected the car for repair. this time i have been adamant that i do not want to accept a repair. i do not accept this car and want a full refund. they have had my car for over a week and are repairing it even though i have said i will not accept this repair or vehicle. i have called many times each day to speak to the manager and to date he has not returned my calls. their finance manager has told me i will not get a refund from them. I paid for the majority of the price on my credit card. any help about how to secure a refund will be greatly appreciated. thanks

If your not getting any joy from carcraft, and you payed a large amount on a credit card, you should be able to get the money back from the credit card company.
Speak to them & tell them whats happened, they should be able to help.

What sort make/model of car is it, and how old is it? Getting the brakes fixed so that they stay fixed and don't fail again in the same way soon after can't be that difficult for a competent mechanic.

    Carcraft.... Says it all.

My sister bought one from there years ago when she needed something quickly after her car got written off.
Should have thought something iffy when they have a barrier to get in & out. Stops you dumping the car on their forecourt.
They so called service & checks they do, Half of her lights didn't work. Salesmen, well ive seen less aggressive sharks. Literally seconds form walking in they pounce on you.
Never been to a car showroom like that before or since.
Car had a few issues but nothing i couldnt sort myself for reasonable prices, Good job after reading problems people had with them.

One thing made me chuckle, when looking through the paperwork they supplied she had also been given tax discs and MOTs for several other cars.

1 previous owner. Hertz car rental or a lease company?

I have had one owner cars, ex police. Tons of miles but tons of repairs and cheap.

I would start by writing to the manager of the depot and explain they have fixed the brakes before and yet the problem persists, There is obviously a more serious fault that they can not find or fix and the vehicle is dangerous to drive in that condition.

    You are rejecting the car.

Might be hard proving it without an independant inspection.
