Fire Engine drove through my garden

I can see that they might not remember where the gardens were exactly that they'd had to drive over, or what car wing mirrors they've knocked off - they'd be in a bit of a rush and probably it's not uppermost in their minds at the time.

As vikingaero has said, maybe they just assume that people will realise what's happened and contact the fire brigade themselves.
got to say though, the fire brigade wouldn't be my first assumption lol, I suppose I just assumed they would have some sort of admin staff at the station that would deal with the day to day stuff like that.
Anyway, good luck OP and be thankful that you were not in the garden sunbathing at the time

Yeah I thought joyriders, it actually looked pretty bad, worse than it actually was thankfully, so there's no way they couldn't have noticed it when they reversed out (street is a dead end and no where to turn).AKA: PC

I still don't think you quite get it, if they were on an emergency call they won't have had time to stop and leave a note over a bit of churned up grass, while they're stopped and writing the note, the fire is getting bigger. A normal person wouldn't hold the fact they did not stop against them and not stopping doesn't mean they do not take responsibility as you imply.Princess_Coupon wrote: »... or should they have left a note advising me to call the fire station for an explanation ie taken responsibility.0 -

No I don't think you get it, no-one in there right mind would expect them to stop on their way there, but after they have dealt with the call before/as they leave they drop in a note, or even today when they called back (to the house 4 doors up that had the original callout)to fit a smoke alarm they could have left a note.
Also I'm sure they have pre-printed fire service notes saying an engine may have caused damage and to phone up for more info, do you really think the fireman rumages in their glovebox for a scrap of paper and a pen to scrawl a note on?AKA: PC

Just call the fire service but dont use the emergency number, or you could pop down to the station to enquire about what to do to claim0
