Off subject but how can I access medical history + can I use it?

Sort of relevant and I cant see an nhs forum and this always seems to be the friendliest place.
Basically I have a ppi claim in but they have said they will re look at it, if I can provide proof of pre existing condition at the time.
The only way I can think of this is a copy of my medical history from the period.
I'm not trying to blag it as I am/was asthmatic at the time and had, had a fair bit of trouble shortly before taking the loan so it would definately been relevant on top of 4 months signed off with a bad back.
What i'm wondering in is can I obtain a paper copy as most info I can find say "view"? and then would I be ok to send copies off to Lloyds? its info on me after all which I will no doubt pay for.
The other thing is I can be very precise on required info and dates so should I specify or just ask for a full access request?
Thanks in advance, i'm going down tomorow would just be nice to know my rights.

I'm sure there was an example letter or form on the Information Commissioners site for getting your medical history. It is a Subject access request and will cost you £10 but i think there is a difference in the waiting period for medical data.
Is anyone here advising you supply this extra info, or is it just something that the bank has requested? After falling off the gambling wagon (twice): £33,600 (24,000+ 9,600) - Original CC Debt: £7,885.91

Its up to them to obtain your medical records mate - not you. You pay a premium and they will get authority from you to approach your GP - go back and tell them it is their responsibility to prove it. It is like making any claim from any insurer - they have to obtain the medical documents.....
A SAR (under s.7 Medical report) will do little, anyone can create/fabricate a GP note

Thanks both
Sorry dont know if I made it clear, im not trying to claim rather reclaim, this is a mis sold reclaim on the grounds of no mention of a pre existing condition and the fact I had another insurance policy with them.
Well I know 100% it was 4 months before the start of the loan as I have a bank statement showing the chemist bill which was the only 1 in a while(hate the docs) and some withdrawls from a festival I went to a few weeks after.
I'm tempted to write back and tell them its not possible to prove it but i'm 100% sure of my facts and if they wish I will take it to the FOS and win on these grounds.
Wierd thing is they upheld 2/4 but I think it was a different person doing the 2 that they upheld.0 -

Ahh ok, well remember a GP does not have to follow full enhanced disclosure if the relevant notes could cause you harm, therefore it would be pointless relying on a medical sar. What I mean is, if you had a history of going over the edge whenever you think of your dead relative, if you then read all the notes the doctor had typed, it could push you over the edge again so they would restrict these notes and withold them - see what I mean? You could end up with a wasted SAR, in essence.....
Therefore i'd complain formally under mis-sale of PPi and not worry too much about medical records, a simple call to your GP for clarity on dates will suffice at which point you mention this in your complaint to the FOS.

My view of the doctors is very typically male i'm afraid. Go only when I really have too.
Think my entire history would fit on the back of a beer mat.
I'll pop in and have a word, see if they wont share some info ie date, doctors name although I can all but name the doctor.
Face to face seems to get better results without a phone to hide behind.

I know what you mean my GP had a talk about this when i was considering NHS E-Records as my FYP.
So your reclaiming.
Did they pay out for the 4 months you were off ill, generally if you make a claim they won't let you reclaim. (i think)
And generally PPI reclaims are quick, as they know they missold them one way or anotherAlthough no trees were harmed during the creation of this post, a large number of electrons were greatly inconvenienced.
There are two ways of constructing a software design: One way is to make it so simple that there are obviously no deficiencies, and the other way is to make it so complicated that there are no obvious deficiencies0 -
