problem with halifax reward

my balance has gone:
this friday i opened a rewards account online with halifax and all was well. the account was open almost straight away, i then sent £1000 from my first direct account to the new halifax one and all was well.
the money showed as a credit on halifax online system so i tried to send it back to my first account thinking that come the 1st of june i would recive a fiver, HOWEVER halifax transfurs seemed not to allow me to do this so i called them on the phone.
spoke to a lady who told me that the funds needed to be in the account for 24 hours and to try the transfur tomorrow whilst i was talking to her i happend to ask if this was the reward account for def and was it all ok she told me in reply to this that the account that id set up was not the reward account but she could swap it over and that the acc number and sort code would stay the same and that was that, all was well then.

went on the online banking system on sat, 24 hours after the £1000 went in to transfur it out and it still wouldn't allow me to move it, i thought i would give it a bit longer

all was not well when i loged on this morning to find that the account had indeed been swaped to the reward account with the same acc number and sort code infact the only difference was that the ballance was £0.00.

i checked the recent transfurs and there was no record of a transfur in or out
i rang them straight away to find out where the money had gone and they said they have no idea they also said that the account was not open yet so thats why they couldn't see any thing

any one got any ideas what i should do as they have only told me to call them back tomorrow by the way hello to everyone im new on here have been lurking in the back though good first post i hope.

It's normal behaviour for the balance of the account to disappear for 24 hours when it is first opened. You should be able to see it again tomorrow.

As masonic says, it's quite normal for this to happen - only when the account has just been opened or converted not after that. Somewhat disconcerting though.
