Ryanair. Can I book 2 one-way flights instead of a return to save money?

I am trying to book flights to Barcelona and back. The cost of 2 return flights is £98 but if I check one way flights it comes out as £31.56 there and 70.38 euros back. I think 70 euros is about £50. So by my reckoning I would save about £17 by booking one-way flights instead of returns.
Could someone check my maths, please?
Is this allowable?
Would the credit card company add a surcharge if I pay for the flights home in euros?
I like the idea of saving £17, but I don't want to cause myself bother!
Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me. Fool me three times and I'll smash your face in. :D

    you have hit gold there

just looked at going to Girona from Luton £39.99 for the return leg but if you book it as a one way from Girona to Luton its 39.99 EUROS.

    £12 saved already!

So in future guys, it pays to buy 2 legs.

This works with the Girona leg quite a lot.
Noticed this for Marseille next month.
Uk rtn leg £39.99 doing it as a single 44.95 Euro saving around £8.

If you are down south don't overlook BA return flights Gatwick-Barcelona for £47ish fully inclusive of taxes etc. Not much/any availability until mid september at these prices but worth a look.

  • Is it worth doing this in any event? I did look into this from Manc to alicante but it seemed cheaper to do it return?

Some banks charge a GBP1.50 debit card fee for booking in Euros, per transaction.

I have booked to go to poland with friends on cheap flights.

Outbound with Sky Europe and inbound with Ryanair. Worked out far cheaper doing it this way about £55 return. Just remember you have to pay in whatever currency is used in the country you are returning from.

Check out Travel & Transport, skyscrapers on this website to see if any other airlines are cheaper.

Also print off your booking conformation - I never received an email confirming my booking, but lucky I printed off booking form before logging off booking site.

    Hope this all makes sense.
