Burger King

Hello
We went to Burger King in Markfield, Leics today as when we were driving by we noticed that they had some big offer boards up saying "Buy one Whopper or Chicken Royale meal, get one free." We went in and bought three Whopper meals and two children's meals (there were five of us) and I said to my MIL "Was one of the meals free?" She looked at the receipt and it didn't look like it, so she went to the counter and asked the girl who served us. She told her that apparently the manager had advised her to only give the buy one, get one free deal to people who asked for it! She wouldn't refund the cost of one of the meals, even though we pointed out to her that there were massive boards on the roadside saying that it was buy one, get one free. So just a warning in case anyone goes to BK in the near future whilst this deal is on. I took a photo of the board and will be writing to their head office, but just thought I would make people aware of this in case it happens to them.

These kind of deals are a joke I would have spoked to the manager in the burger king about this pointed out that no where on the poster did it say " I must ask for this specific deal".
The girl at the counter is only doing what she has been told by management and I doubt even if she wanted to she would not have the authority to refund the money.
Perhaps you will get a full explaination from the directors.

Thanks Gerrard
I did say to the girl that we knew it wasn't her fault, it was the management to blame. The girl even said that she thought it was sly.Everyone I know wants to be a millionaire.

If I was the girl on the counter I would have put the offer through anyway and tell my manager that the offer was asked for.My daughters are my world0

I would also contact Trading Standards as they should be very interested.0

Contact burger King and they will compensate you (although it will probably be in the form of free burger vouchers
)

BK do have some good deals but I have found the managers a bit unpleasant on occasion. My OH had to argue to get a coffee instead of a soft drink with one deal and last week I heard the manager telling off the assistant for filling up the coffee cup too high. Also the kid's meals are 70p more than McD's and they never seem to have the fruit option available.
I would defo take it up with Head Office.0 -
I used to get staff discount at Burger King when I showed them a staff discount card for a completely different company. I thought they were the part of the same group but they weren't but I still got 10% knocked off my bill when I showed it.0

Seeing as most BK`s are Franchised it would be costing the operater money when the offers are running so maybe the manager is watching the profit margin , and his bonus of course ?A Bast**d I May Be ! I Was Born One !

She looked at the receipt and it didn't look like it
I would get trading standards into your school, because that is the bottom of the problem, where they failed not only to give you a grip with mental arithmetic, but forgot domestic education as well.0
