our budget is £2k but some of this could easily be reduced. I have put aside £300 for dress and accessories, same for h2B's suit/shoes/shirt/tie (he really needs one anyway!).
We are getting married in church at 11am (church fees £364) and then the rest of the cost is a sit down lunch at a lovely country pub/hotel, food cost is £25 per head for 3 generous courses, and we will put some wine out and get a drink for toasts too. We are keeping our reception brief for lots of reasons, but it also keeps the costs down on the alcohol front as most people will be driving home.
We are having 30 people in total, just very close family and our very closest friends.
Things were getting out of control logistically and financially before that but we are really happy with our plans now.
We are leaving at 3pm to head to the airport to start our mini moon on a 5pm flight. We will be at our hotel in the evening for a nice cosy dinner for 2 and hopefully a proper wedding night
it's second time round for me so I have put my foot down a lot more about what's important and what I am not paying for under any circumstances!
good luck with your planning0 -
we got married for under £1k. ok so it 8 years ago nearly. but it is definatly do-able.
we spent about £250 on our honeymoon staying at a local hotel for 3 night's. but if we didn't have this we could of had more to the meal. we had i think 16 to the meal.0 -
So i guess there are some costs we HAVE to pay - registry office fees, etc. Then I need a ring, OH won't wear one so nice and MSE there! Something to wear for us and kidlets, and reception afterwards. Honeymoon will just be a long weekend as we will have to find childcare for brats, so that won't be too expensive. Have I forgotten anything vital?

Have a look at this you would not need much more, hire a suit and get a dress and pay for the registry office. Sorry i know it is slightly more but it does seem a fair deal

We got married for very little quite a while ago.
Register office wedding with parents for witnesses, off to the pub for a pub meal. Went home afterwards and went for a lovely walk in the countryside with our two dogs and then got togged up for the night "do".
This was a large hired room at a local football club, we had the dj and a huge hot and cold buffet which was fab, around 400 turned up for this and tbh that was a bit of a shock but was a great night all the same.
We didn`t want a fuss and had been together for a while and it suited us just fine.
Other people wanted us to do things differently but we really didn`t want the trouble and expense. It was our day and we loved it. If i could turn back the clock i wouldn`t change a thing.
Hope that everything works out for you both and you get the day that you want.

I may be being really thick...
does this price include the actual ceremony?!0 -
Ah I get you.
Thats not a bad price at all as Ive seem some venues charge that just for hire of the ceremony room!!!
Have emailed them for price at Market Bosworth, as it says package doesnt include there and its the nearest one to me lol. Typical!0 -
seen these for £999 so might be ok for someone on a low budget if you have one in your area
