Green onion sprouts - can we pick them?

You will harm & destroy your onion crop if you eat these leaves, they are the food / sunlight gathering items that the growing onion need to grow & mature. Do not use them like chives
Why not just get some chives? They really are dead easy to grow, you could buy any pot grown for culinary use from any supermarket for under a quid, just harden it off a bit & plant outWhen an eel bites your bum, that's a Moray0 -
The green bits for the onion is use for them to grow the onion bigger. So if you want a big onion, then leave them.
You can grow chives for snipping tops off
