Hi
please can you help, i bought this item as a buy it now this morning. http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=160019769799&ssPageName=ADME:B:EOIBSA:UK:11 it is a real bargain but now i'm wondering if it is too good to be true. reading through the other persons feedback they sold a D600 mobile of 4wks old a few weeks ago and i'm beginning to wonder if it is the same phone. I have to pay for the item before the bank closes today or i lose the item and will get neg feedback. The seller has contacted me through ebay questions but hasnt replied to the email i sent, also the bank account that they have given me is in a different name?
Any advice would be greatly recieved, or am i just too suspicious?
Thanks
Nikki

I wouldn't pay.
He's not offering paypal. He's insisting on bank transfer which is risky for buyers. AND he's asking for it on the day of purchase! No pressure then!!! Why's he in such a hurry?
Stock photo, too.My TV is broken!

'The phone is great This is what you call tech no.'
What does that even mean?
And he only has feedback for three sales. My TV is broken!

maybe they have more than one of the same phone possibly but worth asking directly:j HEATHER :¬) :T

Having spent a little more time looking, my gut feeling is that he is clueless, rather than a scammer. That said, I would never have bid on an auction with those terms.
Oddly enough, he accepts paypal on his other auction. Perhaps he's trying to avoid chargebacks. My TV is broken!

Hi Guys,
i had the same gut feelings as you both, and i did wonder if its just to save paypal charges, i know that i can recall the payment from their account if the item doesnt arrive but not sure exactly how long i can leave it.
They do seem a bit clueless but its the fact that i've not heard from the email account that worries me

He seems genuine, he is also selling some toy trains, not the usual thing a scammer would sell.0

Stock photo and no paypal. It might well be a clueless seller but I wouldn't touch it with a bargepole.
There is a possibility that this is a hijack, which would explain why this auction doesn't look the same as his others. In other auctions he accepts paypal and uses his own photos.

It certainly does look odd - I would question him as to why he won't accept Paypal, maybe offer to cover the extra charge you incur via Paypal? Or offer to cover the cost of the listing (ie his fee's) if he balks over the payment? Better that than get neg feedback or loose your money!
I would have said it was an account takeover too - but he's still selling other stuff and he's sold mobiles before. I know it sounds corny, but it's possible that he's selling it for a friend, and maybe you are paying it directly into his friends account?[strike]£1,000 Bank Overdraft[/strike] - Repaid!
