I have found that site terribly useful for routine maintainence purposes. I had my Fabia stolen, (yes honest, Skoda, stolen) a couple of years ago and I am in the habit of keeping the manual in the glove box. Well when the car was recovered the manual was missing. I defy anyone to change the battery or find the fuse box without a manual. Like this site, people are extremely friendly and helpful on there.

    On my third Octavia now.

Very well built, quality components inside and out, very robust and hard-wearing. Never had any breakdowns or problems. Service interval of 2 years or 20,000 miles with each service costing about £160 (so about 80£ a year if you spread the cost). My 1.9 TDI averages around 49 mpg. Not the quietest engine at idle, but very qukck and powerful where it matters.

Hatchback has largest boot in the sector (580 litres) but with dogs, the estate will be better as you can put the bars up. Very well spec'd car too with dual climate control (different temperatures left/right), auto wipers, cruise, traction control, etc.

Yes, a mondeo is better value if you buy an old one, but Skoda' hold value better of three year period and so investment wise is better than the Mondeo.

However, the Skoa image still needs to be beat (my Dad hates them yet drives a Mistubishi Galant!). If you can take the crticisims from friends then they are still an excellent buy.
Anger ruins joy, it steals the goodness of my mind. Forces me to say terrible things. Overcoming anger brings peace of mind, a mind without regret. If I overcome anger, I will be delightful and loved by everyone.
