I'm pretty sure there must already be a thread for this, but I really can't find it.
I'm looking to buy a new Sat Nav and is wondering if anyone is aware of any bargains at the moment? I have used Garmin in the past, so am used tot hem and have a leaning towards them. I am very much open to change though for the sake of a bargain.

I bought my sat nav from comet for £90, its a Tom Tom One. NIce and simple but really does the job.
Try out ebay as well.
Hope this helps0 -
I'd rather use a map and argue with the OH. Its much more fun0

Maplin are selling cheap Binatone sat-navs at the moment. The cheapest is £35, or for £40 you can get a bigger screen or EU mapping. They're "Grade A", which means they are sold as new, unmarked and with all original accessories, but they may not be in the original box.

Got one of the Maplin Binatones with UK and Western Europe mapping.
Good points were the price, under £40 delivered, the speedy delivery and the unit was in perfect condition. The only way I knew it was an A grade was the original buyer had written inside the manual that it was purchased in Tesco and the date. It even came in the original box. After the initial set up it picks up satellites quickly, just a few seconds, unlike my other RAC satnav which takes up to 15 minutes. The postcode search is fine, down to door number.
The bad points are it feels cheap and it has limited functions, such as only one voice and no real way of indicating how much you prefer motorway or A road driving. The tone is quite tinny. The instructions do not explain how to change from UK to other country maps. The routing is not brilliant. It has tried to send me through a school playground, into cul de sacs and uses tiny country lanes rather than obvious A roads.
For the price I am not complaining but you get what you pay for.0 -
Buy a TomTom ONE - don't buy any cheap rubbish that's out there.
You can normally pick up the last version (ie not the very latest) for less and they come with a free map update anyway.
I used mine extensively for work for 2 months & 3000+ miles last summer and it never let me down. Got a V4 at the moment but there's nothing wrong with the V3 either (had one of those too)0
